ADMISSION POLICY AND PROCEDURES

The School Board has established the following guidelines for admissions to Westlake Christian Academy:

  1. The administrative staff is given the authority to admit qualified students with the advice and aid of the Board of Trustees.
  2. Approval by the School Board of Trustees is required in any exceptions to the policies below.

POLICIES

  1. Students will be accepted in the order of our receipt of the application.
  2. One or both parents must subscribe to the philosophy, standards, and statement of faith of Westlake Christian Academy outlined in the Student-Family Handbook.
  3. No student will be admitted who:
    1. Shows extremely low academic performance as indicated by a standardized testing program, report cards or the WCA Admissions Assessment Test.
    2. Has failed the most recent grade level prior to application.
    3. Has a "present history" of emotional or disciplinary problems.
    4. Has been suspended or expelled.
    5. Has a court record.
    6. Comes from a non-Christian home - a Christian home being defined as: a home where one or both parents have received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. (1 Cor. 7: 14)
    7. Has an identified or probable L.D. beyond our scope of expertise.

NOTE: We have a deep concern that every Christian child have an opportunity to have a Christian education, but at our present stage of development, we are unable to commit to meet the needs of all students.

  1. A child must be 3 years of age by September 1 for 2-day Preschool; 4 years of age by September 1 to be considered for our 3-day Pre-Kindergarten program and 5 years of age by September 1 in order to be considered for our Kindergarten.
  2. Tuition Assistance Applications must be obtained and submitted by June 30 to be processed for forthcoming academic year.
  3. Westlake Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
