  Prekindergarten

Socialization and school readiness are the main emphases of our three and four-year old program. We believe that learning to socialize is the most important reason for children to be in a formal school setting at this age. The program is designed to develop each child's spiritual, perceptual, motor, social, emotional and language abilities. Children learn to communicate and problem solve through interactive games, music and play.

As parents, you know what will best fit your child and WCA offers several schedules to create the best possible experience for your child. We can also help you determine what will be the most positive learning schedule for your child.

Kindergarten

The academic emphasis of our kindergarten program includes number concepts, reading readiness, socialization, and motor development.

MATH
We utilize a hands-on program designed to help children more fully comprehend the concept of numbers covering patterning, grouping, graphing, classifying, identifying shapes, and counting

READING READINESS
Children learn to make each letter correctly with its corresponding sound. Though formal reading in kindergarten is not our primary objective, we encourage each reader to progress as far as he or she desires.

BIBLE
Using an Association of Christian Schools International curriculum, the children learn Biblical truths and Bible verses and how to incorporate them into their everyday life

Elementary

During the primary grades children blossom to become students eager to learn. WCA seeks not only to provide a sound knowledge of basic instructional strategies and academic content, but also to incorporate the truths of the Bible into all areas of growth. The program includes:

  • Self-contained classrooms
  • Christian integration within primary disciplines
  • Reading, Science, Social Studies
  • Math, English, Spelling
  • Bible, P.E., Music, Art, Computer

Small class sizes allow for the teacher to be keenly sensitive to each child's needs and learning pace. Each faculty member strives to provide a classroom atmosphere of Christian love and acceptance, allowing children to enjoy the learning process and freeing them to develop to their fullest potential. While placing a strong emphasis on the basic skills, each student is shown how the Bible's teachings enrich each subject. Each subject area is further enriched with field trips and co-curricular activities.
