Everyday Blessings
WCA's Parents Association is excited to announce "Everyday Blessings," where every parent can make a difference, every day. Our small offerings multiply to tremendous blessings when everyone helps.
Everyone won’t be able to do all these things, but everyone can do some of them! Some of them generate income, and others turn into free teaching resources, athletic equipment, and art and office supplies.
Westlake wants every parent to develop a passion for helping in big and small ways, so that serving our school becomes a natural lifestyle for every family. Will you please help us? Will you please ask your friends, family, and neighbors to help too? You can email them a link to this webpage, or post the link to your Facebook® page. All these programs are most effective when many people are participating.
Thank you for all the ways you support our school and bless our students, teachers and staff!
Here is a list of the websites below in printable form:

Everyday Items
Box Tops for Education is a huge source of funding for our playground and athletic equipment. With everyone's help, we turn these little scraps of paper into thousands of dollars worth of balls, uniforms, scooters, jump ropes, track equipment and more!
For an added incentive, students compete every month for a free dress-down day based on which classroom turns in the most labels to their teacher! There is also a white drawer cart in the cafeteria for homeschool band families and others not connected to a particular grade.
It is so easy to save Box Tops! Can you please ask friends and family to help too? You can find all qualifying products at www.BoxTops4Education.com. Please also check your grocery store receipts; occasionally they print coupons worth up to 500 bonus points. Thank you!
Campbell's® Labels for Education® are a huge source of funding for our playground and athletic equipment.
It is so easy to save Campbell's® labels! Can you please ask friends and family to help too? You can find all qualifying products at www.LabelsforEducation.com. Please also check your grocery store receipts; occasionally they print coupons worth up to 500 bonus points. Thank you!
TerraCycle® buys our trash and pays postage for us to ship it to them! Specifically, they pay us for all brands of empty drink pouches and all brands and all sizes of all chip bags. They convert the items into 15,000 different products, such as Cheetos® backpacks and Capri-Sun® lunch bags. Check out their unusual catalog at www.TerraCycle.net. It will make you smile! TerraCycle® is one of the fastest-growing green companies in the world.
We collect bags and pouches directly from the children at lunch periods. We also have a white drawer cart in the cafeteria for your convenience. Thank you so much!
Coca-Cola® offers sports equipment, art supplies and other resources to us through their MyCoke® Rewards program. Even better, they have sweepstakes for big things like library and playground grants.
You can find codes on boxes and lids of any Coca-Cola® product, including Sprite®, Barq's®, Dasani® water, Minute Maid® and others. Create an account at www.MyCokeRewards.com and choose to donate your points to WCA.
If you already have an account, we would love any points you don't plan to use. You can also give us the codes and we can type them in; just place them in the white drawer cart in the cafeteria. Thank you very much!
What do you do with books and other educational materials when your kids outgrow them? Our school library and our individual classroom libraries need great books that are in like-new condition. Our younger classrooms need LEGO®s, toys, and games suitable for indoor recess. Your special items will live on to bless many children.
If you would like to see specific requests, please see our wish lists page. Thank you!
We want your used printer ink and toner cartridges! We recycle every brand in exchange for office and art supplies. Please place them in the white drawer cart in the cafeteria. Thank you!
Everyday Shopping
When you order any uniform items from Lands' End, please remember that Westlake is a Preferred School. Our ID is 900-08-8386. Just mention this code when you place any order by phone or online, and they will send us a check!
For online orders, Westlake will receive additional funds if you first logon to www.OneCause.com to access www.LandsEnd.com. OneCause® is described below. Thank you!
The OneCause® toolbar is essentially a Yahoo® search engine and shopping portal for your internet browser. OneCause® gives Westlake money for every qualifying search. They give us even more money for every online purchase from one of their 1,443 merchants.
All you have to do is create an account at www.OneCause.com and choose Westlake Christian Academy as your charity. Then be sure to do all your searches and shopping through the www.OneCause.com site. If you can buy it online, chances are you can buy it through OneCause®. Different retailers have different contribution levels. For example, Shutterfly.com gives us 7%. Restaurant.com gives 6%. Hotels.com gives 2.6%. Amazon.com, Sears.com, Staples.com, and Target.com give 2%. LandsEnd.com gives us 1.5%. When you are buying uniforms, please do so through OneCause®!
Even if you prefer Google® as your search engine, you can still use OneCause® for all your online shopping. Would you please ask your family and friends to help, too? This is a great way to generate automatic income for the school. Thank you so much!
Scholastic® Book Clubs are available through all the elementary classrooms, from Pre-K through Grade 6. Every month, parents can buy books and other learning resources from age-specific catalogs. Every single purchase gives the teacher points they can spend on books and classroom resources. Teachers love Scholastic®! Our first grade classroom alone has added hundreds of books over the last few years through Scholastic® points. This is a great way for teachers to refresh their classroom materials, blessing them and future students for years to come.
In addition to books, Scholastic® offers a wide variety of materials.
Look for monthly catalogs in your child's backpack, then submit your order to the teacher, or you can order online anytime at www.Scholastic.com.
The Target REDcard® is great for you and great for Westlake! You can choose one of 3 cards: a Target® store credit card, a Target® VISA®, or a debit card. Use the card and save 5% off your total bill every single time you shop at Target®, whether in store or online. Your savings are printed at the bottom of every receipt. Who wouldn't want to take advantage of that? Westlake then receives 1% of all your purchases. In addition, when you use your REDcard® at Target.com, you get free shipping with no minimum order!
The REDcard® is easy to apply for online or at any Target® store. Once you receive the card, go to http://www.Target.com/tcoe and link your card number to Westlake Christian Academy, School ID 6354. If you already have any form of a Target® credit or debit card, you may be able to assign it to Westlake right now on http://www.Target.com/tcoe.
This is a great opportunity to generate automatic income for our school. We will have an even greater impact if you ask grandparents, friends and family to help too. Thank you so much!
The school office is always in need of copy paper, lined paper pads, plain white business size envelopes, labels, Post-its®, Scotch® tape, pens, mechanical pencils, paper clips, Wite-Out®, tissues, and AA batteries. Staples® (in Mundelein and Vernon Hills) offers 100% free items every few weeks all year long. You must become a Staples Rewards® member, buy the items, and submit the rebate. Staples will send you a check or a merchandise credit. You can use the merchandise credit to buy the next free item and repeat! Their weekly ads are posted at Staples.com. Staples Rewards® members occasionally receive email coupons for free or almost-free items.
OfficeMax® and Office Depot® have similar programs. These and other stores offer many supplies for just pennies during summer months, with different items every week! Donations of these inexpensive supplies help us minimize expenses during the school year.
Thank you very much for your generosity!
