Parents Association
The Parents Association accomplishes its mission through a three-legged structure:
- Parent Connections Program
- Parent Volunteer Network
- Leadership Development Team
While each of the three legs has a specific individual focus as defined below, like the legs of a stool, each of them is dependent on the others to fulfill the mission. The goal is not to establish separate functions acting independently, but to establish a framework that focuses on complementary areas, that when brought together, maximize the strengths and effectiveness of Westlake parents in order to fulfill the Association's mission.
Parents Association Officers, 2011-12
- President, Tom Weitzel, WCA family since 2003.
"My vision for the Parents Association is for all parents to be part of a unified body supporting each other, the students, and the school together. Parent involvement at Westlake goes beyond tuition. It is about using the unique gifts, talents, and resources that God has blessed each one of us with toward the fulfillment of Westlake's mission."
- Vice President, Jen Griffin, WCA family since 2008.
"My passion as a Westlake parent is to facilitate strong relationships between parents, students, and teachers. I want to provide opportunities and events for every parent to deepen friendships and foster a warm and caring environment at WCA."
- Secretary: Michele Kagay, WCA family since 2003.
"Parent Volunteers add so much to our school's culture. My vision for Westlake is that helping our school in big and small ways would become a true passion and an
automatic lifestyle for every family."

Parent Volunteer Network
What is the Parent Volunteer Network? The Parent Volunteer Network, or PVN, is a organized framework of small teams that use their God-given talents and abilities to help meet the needs of our school. Each team has a specific purpose and a Team Coordinator, who works with the volunteers to get the job done. When our parents work together towards a common goal, they develop personal relationships that create a strong sense of Christian community and a warm family atmosphere at Westlake. We love our Parent Volunteers! Our teams, which are listed below, are formed at the beginning of each school year. We hope you will join us as God leads you. If you aren't sure where you fit in, just email us at [email protected] and we will help you.
If you are ready to join a team, please complete the form below, and either scan/email it to [email protected], fax it to (847) 548-6481, or submit it to the school office.
