As an administrative database to keep track of our students, parents, and staff as well as process grades, Westlake uses the HeadMaster™ cloud-based software. A special feature of this software allows us to post some of our information to a parent portal called HeadMaster Online™. Using their own secure login, parents can access information concerning their children such as:
- Assignments
- Grades for each assignment
- Progress reports
- Attendance records
- Disciplinary records
- Class schedules
At the beginning of each school year, parents are sent login credentials to establish their unique, secure connection. A special note for parents: the student assignments are posted from the teachers’ lesson plans which are created weekly. Frequently teachers may alter their assignments depending upon lesson presentations, and they may not have time to return to their lesson plans and revise the assignments. Therefore, the final, most accurate information about assignments should be what students record in their assignment notebooks daily, not HeadMaster.
