Testimonials

All I can say is I thank God for Westlake Christian Academy. Before I came to Westlake I was a completely different person. I was claiming Christianity but hardly living the life. Westlake has fully turned me around. I’m surrounding myself with the best friends I’ve ever had and best of all they are all Christians. I’ve learned so much about myself just by being here. I’m discovering a love of sports that I never had before, because my friends encouraged me to try. But more importantly I’ve realized the love I have for Jesus Christ.

Being in this sort of environment has encouraged me to pursue a genuine relationship with the Lord and for that I will be forever grateful. If I had never come to Westlake I may never have made my decision for Christ. Being here has truly allowed me to see how personal God is and how much He truly cares about every aspect of my life. I love being here and I thank the Lord that there is a place like this for me and I would encourage anyone to come to Westlake. I am proud to say that I am a student of Westlake and a child of God. – Kahla (Student)

When I first came to Westlake, I felt like I did not belong. I had been going to public schools all my life, so I was used to a lot of people. But when I arrived here, it was such a small environment and everyone was so close. After my first year, I started to feel like I belonged. I made friends, and the teachers really cared about me; they took time out of their busy schedules to talk with me and help me with my struggles. In the six years that I have been here, my faith has grown a lot. I have felt God work in and through me. There have been hard times that have come up at home or at school, and I know I can talk with my friends or teachers at anytime and they are willing to listen and help me. Westlake has really had an impact in my life, and I am very thankful for it. God has done big things in this school and I know he will continue to do even bigger things. – Dane (Student)

Westlake has truly helped me grow. As a school, it has educated me on how my faith connects to every aspect of life and existence. The teachers actually care about your education and future. As a social environment, it has brought me joy and fellowship like you cannot experience in a secular school. I have made friends who support me both as a friend and a brother in Christ. As a Christian environment, it has allowed me to grow and change for the better, and has strengthened my relationship with the Lord. I am capable of talking about my faith without having to fear ridicule. – Cody (Student)

Before I came to Westlake Christian Academy I didn’t care what God thought. It didn’t mean very much to me. After visiting Westlake I knew there would be a huge change in my life. I found not only friends, but also they are my family. I have teachers who care about my spiritual life, not just my homework for that day. I have Administrators who give up their time every day to ask us how our day is going. We have mothers and fathers who give up their time to encourage us to follow our dream and goals. Every school has problems but Westlake looks at the positive side of them, and tries to make every decision the same way Christ would. – Danae (Student)

In the time that I’ve been here at Westlake Christian Academy I’ve seen enough application of faith to convince anyone of God’s goodness and sustaining power. It seems clear that God is using Westlake in bringing up the next generation of believers through a method of discipleship, the likes of which I’ve seen in no other school. Westlake teaches its students how to learn, love, and live a life with God. The teachers are all great instructors and believers. Mr. Flemming’s Bible classes are like having mini-sermons every day, Mr. Naegele always shows the “other” aspects of science that no one else thinks about, Mrs. Wiemers mixes math with a bubbly personality, Ms. Snow teaches English and shows how God’s messages are found in everyday life, Mr. Hobbie teaches history with a great sense of humor and a love of the demonstration of principle through history, and Mrs. Cibrario keeps noses to the grindstone in gym with creative games and stretches. – Jason (Student)

I have enjoyed my time at Westlake so far. I have had many fond memories with friends and teachers. It has also taught me to put my whole trust in God. God has shown me through the school to put my trust in Him when I don’t know if there is a way out.

My friends at Westlake are the best Christian friends that I could ever have. They are always there for me even when I feel like no one is. They also are like my accountability partners. They make sure that I am on the straight and narrow with God.

The teachers at Westlake are always pressing me to do my best. My band teacher, Mrs. Kurtz, pushes me to do my best not only in the music I play for band, but in everything I do. The teachers always check my spiritual status and where I am in God’s word.

I believe God has big plans for me in my life. God has put me in the school for a reason. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me. – Nathan (Student)

Westlake Christian Academy has helped me in many ways. Westlake has helped me in my walk with Christ, and it has helped me with my education. The teachers are very friendly and help you if you have a problem in your life or in school. And if you have a problem with your faith, they will help you there too. All the students are friendly also. When I first came here, I was very nervous, but everybody was nice to me, and they treated me kindly.

When I leave Westlake in three and a half years, I think the biggest thing I’ll miss is the kindness that everyone shows to you. In other schools people can be mean, and they don’t believe in Christ. And those are the reasons why I like Westlake Christian Academy. – Isaac (Student)

When I came to Westlake Christian Academy I didn’t really want to come here. I wanted to stay at my other school because I had a good number of friends there. I liked my other school, and I wanted to stay. Now after being here for a little over two years, I look back at my other school and I am glad that I was forced to switch schools. My other school was also a Christian school but I know that a lot of the people there would have had a bad influence on me. I did not understand when I was leaving that they would have a bad influence on me but now looking back I can see that many of the people there are not where they should be in their walk with Christ. Westlake Christian Academy has not only kept me on the right path, it has kept me going forward. I have had a chance to do many things here at Westlake Christian Academy: I have been able to be on student council, I have been on the soccer and basketball team. I have had the opportunity on student council to set up, organize, and run most of the events at high school retreat. Westlake Christian Academy has also given me the opportunity to meet many new people, like new friends, and meeting the teachers has also been fun. Westlake Christian Academy is a great place to go for high school no matter where you are in life. – Tyler (Student)

My experience at Westlake has been a time of enjoyment and growth. The teachers here are always ready to have fun, but they also get serious about teaching us. They always take time to encourage us in our faith. If we have questions they are eager to answer us, and they truly care about our spiritual growth. They are supportive of new ideas that we have and help us to accomplish them.

I have made some great friends while being at Westlake. Over my three years at Westlake I have seen many students growing and opening up in their faith. I see people changing, and it is evident that God is working in their lives just as He is working in mine.

Sometimes it is hard to live in faith but the rewards are great. After praying for God’s provision, I can see that He is real when He answers my prayers. I love going to Westlake, and I am excited to see the ways that He will be working in the future. I would never want to change the time that I have spent at Westlake because it is exactly where God wanted me to be. – Stacy (Student)

Thank you for caring for each and every child at Westlake. I am grateful for the insight and love you shower on these young minds. I have watched my grandson grow and mature so very much at Westlake. He has had some challenges, and created some, but through it all you have demonstrated Christ’s love for this young man. He is a very different child than when he first arrived. His self-confidence has emerged, thanks to the positives received at WCA.

God has used WCA in yet another life. Thank you! – Binki (Grandparent)

When I first came to Westlake, I did not really know what to think of it. I was pretty shy, but everyone made me feel welcome. Everyone at Westlake is close and that’s what I really like about it. Also, it’s a real encouragement to know that the people here are not afraid to worship God. During the chapels, basically everyone sings and praises God, so no one has to feel insecure about what people will say about them if they decide to raise their hands and have a real spiritual connection with God. – Joy (Student)

I like WCA because I met a lot of new friends and I am surrounded by lots of great Christian people. I was home schooled since I was in the middle of third grade and as I grew older I was getting more and more advanced so my parents decided to send me here. At first I didn’t like the idea but after I started school I loved it. I think this school is a great place to be. – Hannah (Student)
