Additional scholarships are available from the following outside organizations:
Invest in Kids Scholarship
In the fall of 2017, Illinois created the Invest in Kids Act. This Act allows income tax credits for taxpayers who make authorized contributions to a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO). The SGOs, in turn, provide scholarships for eligible Illinois students to attend qualified, non-public schools in Illinois. As an ISBE approved school, Westlake families are eligible to apply for these funds. We are hopeful that this program will open up the doors for many families who desired for their children to attend Westlake, but felt as though private school tuition was simply out of reach.
Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), an organization through which we are accredited, has established an SGO called Children’s Tuition Fund. This is the only SGO that Westlake partners with. Parents may apply in January for available scholarship monies by completing an application at ChildrensTuitionFund.org. The application process is simple and only takes a few minutes to complete. Do note that you will need to fill out one application per child, not per family. There is a question about “Focus Districts,” just look through the drop-down to see if your town is listed.
Families of Hope Presbyterian Church (OPC) Scholarship
Hope Presbyterian Church (OPC) in Grayslake offers a scholarship to families who attend that church. The scholarship is administered by Westlake Christian Academy. Application may be made at any time by submitting the form below. The deadline for returning families to apply for the next school year is April 30th. The family must apply for Variable Tuition through FACTS prior to receiving scholarship consideration.
Priority will be given to families who attend Hope Presbyterian Church (OPC), with new students receiving first consideration. Students entering Kindergarten–12th grade are eligible. Families who do not attend Hope Presbyterian Church (OPC) may apply and will be considered if available funds are not fully distributed to scholarship applicants who attend Hope.
