Seniors have the unique opportunity to go on a senior trip as a part of their discipleship experience at Westlake. This trip is designed to be a combination of ministry and learning experience as well as a fun activity. Our discipleship objectives for this trip are: Education, Evangelism, Encouragement and Experience. Because the trip is a crucial part of the senior curriculum, all seniors are required to go. The cost of the trip varies from year to year. The class works together to raise a portion of the needed funds for the trip. Students are also guided through the process of sending out support letters, and they are encouraged to contribute some from their own earnings as well.
This trip is often a life-changing experience for the young people as they see first-hand the deep needs which exist in third world counties. Westlake works with Score International, an organization specializing in short term mission trips. Over the past several years, our seniors have served in Aruba, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica.
