Elementary Room Parents, (PreK – 6th GRADE)
Help to coordinate classroom help and serves as a bridge between teachers and parents throughout the year.

Hospitality
Creates a warm and welcoming environment at Westlake events and Open Houses. Greets and mingles with guests and provides refreshments.

Library Aide
Note: we are in need of a volunteer lead librarian. Please check the job description here.
The Library Aide assists in acquiring, organizing and shelving school library materials, welcomes students and helps them locate and check out books during regular library visits.

Lunch Aide
Supervises students during lunch, helps set up hot lunch and distribute milk. Buys supplies to keep kitchen stocked (paid for by WCA). Creates a warm, loving atmosphere for the children.

New Parent Partners
Reach out to new Westlake families, welcomes them to our school, answers questions, and helps them as needed as they transition to a new environment.

Prayer
Meets regularly to pray faithfully for everyone in our Westlake family and God’s blessing upon our school. Please email your prayer needs to [email protected] any time.

Teacher Appreciation
Love and support our Teachers. Keeps the teacher’s lounge stocked with refreshments and other comforts. Organizes an annual Teacher Appreciation Event with help from Room Parents.

Special Event Teams (SET)
The Special Event Teams will allow our parents with limited time to get involved and connect with other families. Throughout the year we have many volunteer opportunities that are one-time events that need the support of our parents, yet only require a small time commitment.

ALL SCHOOL PICNIC
The All School Picnic is a time for our WCA community to come together after the rush of the start of the
school year to enjoy some fellowship and catch up from the summer. There are many different areas that you
can volunteer for one or more. The time commitment for the event is minimal yet rewards of connecting are

FIELD DAY
Field Day is our annual end of the year celebration for our elementary students. Our elementary students look forward every year. It is a day set aside for our students to participate in various games and activities that student community across the grade levels. Along with the Administration and Faculty, we are looking for a few individuals to help with running/overseeing the various activities and to help with photography throughout the day.

GIVING TREE GRAYSLAKE HISTORICAL SOCIETY
If you are looking for a fun event to do with your children then the Giving Tree is for you! The Giving Tree program is an opportunity for Westlake to be a part of a great community event during the holiday months in partnership with the Grayslake Historical Society and area nonprofits. Along with the Parents Association Executive Team by volunteering for this event we are looking for a few individuals willing to share in the experience.

HARVEST FEST
Harvest Fest is a fun, family time each year that allows WCA families to bond and promote mission trip funding for the Seniors. Volunteers will help to organize the fall celebration, including promotion, logistics, donations, volunteers, fun activities, games, food, refreshments, and event setup and take-down.

HOLIDAY BAZAAR
The Holiday Bazaar allows our families and the local community to come together to support WCA owned small businesses and local vendors. This is a time for us to open our doors and invite the community in to our school. Not only does this event allow us to get our name out, but it also helps us to support our families with small businesses. We are looking for individuals who are willing to help organize and promote this event.

RUN FOR LEARNING 5K | FUN RUN
Westlake has joined area preschools to create awareness of the importance of education at an early age as well as to have a fun community event that you can do with your family! This event is for everyone, walkers, runners even babies in strollers. You do NOT have to be a runner to help we need people with every skill set such as creative designers, Detailed Oriented People, Marketing, project managers, web developers and those are just some ideas.

8 th GRADE RECOGNITION
This is an end of year celebration of our 8th Grade class before they move on to high school. This event is currently schedueled for June 2, 2016. We are looking for a few individuals to assist the Administration with this event.
