Welcome to “From the Eagle’s Nest!” If you are joining us for the first time, it is actually quite perfect, because WE are joining us for the first time too! This blog is meant to give you a glimpse into the lives, and hearts of the elementary school within Westlake Christian Academy. If you’re a parent, like me, you cannot always be that fly on the wall you wish you could … to see the inner-workings and rumination of what goes on inside your child’s day would be perfect, but not realistic. As a dual role parent and teacher here at Westlake, I now have the privilege to see life from both sides of the fence, and I’ll be doing my best to share it with you!
William Wordsworth once said, “Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.” This blog is meant to serve as just that … a breath of heart, because being here for only three short weeks, I can assure you that the heart is the primary organ running this level of the school.
Our department is one that consists of eight women, from all ages and stages of life who truly love and are invested in the person that IS your child. Already I have prayed with these teachers, laughed with them, cried with them, and grown with them. It is amazing just how willingly transparent and open each of their characters are, and it is overwhelmingly evident that the Spirit of God is at work in their daily practice.
Each week, I will share stories, musings, and ideas with you about what’s hatching up here – in the Eagle’s Nest! I welcome you to email me with any cares, comments, or questions.
Blessings and peace and health to you all this long-weekend!
