All School Board of Trustees Meeting
Join us on Monday, May 14th for our bi-annual All-School Board of Trustees Meeting.
Twice a year, the school’s leadership prepares a meeting to report to families about what’s going on. The constitutionally mandated meetings happen in September and May. Brief presentations will address the activities of the Parents Association, the school administration, development, and finances, as well as the Board itself. All parents and staff, of course, are important stakeholders in this ministry and should be interested in those reports.
We’ll be voting for the potential new board of trustee members. You can see their bios here.
We’ll also be offering childcare for your convenience for children between the grades of Pre-K - 6th Grade. If you’d like to register your child please be sure to fill out the form below so we can have adequate coverage.
Meet the Author
I am excited to tell you that we have invited Mary Morgan, a Christian children’s author, to visit our school on Tuesday, May 8. She will be giving two dynamic presentations to our elementary students (K-1 at 9:50 and 2-6 at 10:25) about how she creates her stories. We hope this special event will promote literacy, encourage reluctant readers, and inspire our students to write more stories.
Below is her flyer, in case your child would like to purchase a signed copy of one of her books. By the way, Mrs. Krass has read some of this author’s books to her students over the years and they are always a favorite. Her mysteries are filled with twists, turns, and lots of cliffhangers.
Please try to return your order forms by Thursday, May 3, if possible. That way Mrs. Morgan will have time to personalize each book. She will also have extras for sale on Tuesday but finds it helpful to know how many books are being purchased in advance.
Thank you for partnering with us to promote literacy!
Sincerely,
Laura DeReus
Elementary Supervisor
Field Day
Once again Mrs. Lauri Hogenkamp is taking charge and coordinating all of the activities – what a wonderful blessing! She needs a small army of fun volunteer parents to make it all happen though. Generally, volunteers arrive about 10:30ish and stay through the end of the awards ceremony. But even coming just for the afternoon games 11:30-2:00 would be helpful. Here is the general schedule:
10:30 am arrival/assignments
11:00-11:30 supervise elementary lunch (grades 1-6)
11:30am-2:00pm afternoon games
2:00pm awards ceremony in the gym (includes a PowerPoint of photos taken throughout the day)
Thank you for your consideration. If you are available to help, I think you will find Field Day to be a wonderful activity that students look forward to at the end of the school year. Please email Erica Adkins if you’re interested in helping: [email protected] or respond below:
