Tuesday, October 9th from 4:30pm-8:30pm &
Wednesday, October 10th from 9:00am-12:00pm

Tuesday and Wednesday, October 9 & 10, are set aside for Parent/Teacher conferences. We have made our teachers available 4:30-8:30 Tuesday evening and 9:00-12:00 Wednesday morning (no classes Wednesday through Friday at all). We are only scheduling conferences with core subject teachers. If you have a concern about a music, art, or PE class, please contact the school office at [email protected] or 847-548-6209 to schedule a separate conference.

Elementary Parents (PreSchool - 6th Grade):
To schedule a conference with an elementary teacher, please sign up on that teacher’s schedule sheet outside the school office. If you cannot make it in to do so, call or email the school office to schedule with an elementary teacher.

Secondary Parents (7th - 12th Grade):
We schedule individual conferences with secondary teachers. We set aside 15 minute blocks for each conference. To enable us to schedule your junior/senior high school conferences, we ask that you click the following link and fill out the on-line form (this online registration is for junior/senior high school students only). Please take care of this no later than Friday, October 6.

Every Friday a group of moms meet together in the cafeteria after drop off to boldly go before our God on behalf of our families and school. If you are not familiar with Moms in Prayer, go to their website! They were previously called Moms in Touch.

We meet and pray for 1 hour. Our hour together is divided into 4 parts. First, We praise God for WHO he is. Last week we gave praise to God that he is generous, one who bestows abundant blessings and provision; one who is liberal in giving. Check out their weekly prayer sheets here.

Here is an example outline for a Morning of Prayer:
Deut 2:7 “For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He knows your going through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you. You have lacked nothing.”’

Psalm 65:9-13 You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. 10 You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. 11 You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance. 12 The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Romans 8:32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

Next we spend a few minutes silently confessing our sins to God. Then we have a time of Thanksgiving; thanking God for WHAT he has done. And we end with a time of intercession for our children and for the school. Each mom prays a request for one of her children and the moms in her group pray over that request with her, then the next mom prays a request, etc until all moms have prayed and been prayed for.

We pray for staff specifically. We always have a specific verse that we pray filling in the blanks with our children’s names and the faculty/staff we pray for. Today our verse was Proverbs 11:25, “May____ be a generous person who prospers; may ______ refresh others so he/she will also be refreshed.”

I know not everyone is able to come, so I wanted to post the sheet we prayed through and explain a little of how it works if any of you were interested in doing this on your own time. It is truly a blessing to meet with other like-minded moms and pray together for each other’s children. I’ve started putting the extra prayer sheets on the bulletin board outside the office; feel free to take one! Or go to their website and print it out, or message me and I can send you the link for what we prayed each week. If there is any way you can carve out one hour on Friday mornings to join us, I know you will be blessed! We have such great families at Westlake! God is at work in this place!!
