RETREAT THEME

This year’s spiritual life theme is Voices. Daily we are bombarded by voices; some good, some bad. Advertisers, friends, culture, the Spirit and others are all competing for our attention. All of them are delivering a message. Who will we listen to? What messages will we take to heart? The prophet Isaiah tells us, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left your ears will hear a small voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.’” (Isaiah 30:21) Throughout the course of this school year we will consider many of these voices and work on discerning and obeying the Voice of Truth in our lives.

At our retreat, Alex Connell, youth pastor at Mundelein Church of the Nazarene, will lead us in considering the Voice of Possibility, the Voice of Forgiveness, the Voice of Service, the Voice of Power and others. As always, retreat will be about us making connections; with new friends and old, with teachers, and most importantly, with God. Please pray for our retreats and our entire year that we would hear God’s voice and follow Him.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

Camp Fairwood offers the following optional activities. Students who plan to participate must submit all money to the office by Monday, August 29th.

Horseback Riding - $20 (waiver required)

Paintball - $15

Giant Swing - $6 (waiver required)
