We love our Grandparents!
Westlake Christian Academy looks forward every fall to having our students’ grandparents visit the school. This year, grandparents (or special guests) are invited to visit Westlake for afternoon tours. Grandparents will be able to tour the school, view their student’s classwork, and share some time in the gym making a craft and eating a snack.
For long-distance grandparents, we will be publishing a video that shows a glimpse of what our school day is like at Westlake.

1:00–2:30pm: Drop-in Classroom Tours
Doors open promptly at 1pm
Grandparents Day is a Half Day (9am–12pm)
Grandparents Day is a HALF DAY for all students. There is no After Care on all-school half days. Because it is also a Late Start Friday, the school day runs from 9am–12pm for Preschool through 12th grade. Pickup for all Preschool–6th grade students is from Slusser Street, via the playground gate.
All students are expected to be picked up between 12:00–12:20pm. Please leave campus for lunch, and then students may return with grandparents any time between 1:00–2:30pm for an in-person classroom tour.
Afternoon: Drop-In Tours (Preschool–12th Grade)
Grandparents are invited to visit the school with their grandchildren to take a tour of the classroom. Students will be able to show you where they sit, along with some of their school work. The gym will also have activities and snacks available.
The school will be open from 1:00–2:30pm for tours. You may come at any time during that window, but please let us know that we should expect you. The doors will not open until 1:00 pm, as our teachers need time to eat lunch and prepare for your arrival.
Special Note:
If a grandparent is unavailable, students are encouraged to bring a parent or other special guest for a tour.
Accessibility
Parents are welcome to accompany elderly grandparents (especially those who might need assistance navigating stairs). Our preschool/pre-k building and the gym are accessible by ramp, but all other classrooms require stairs. Grandparents who need to use the ramp should park on the playground blacktop (see map and instructions below).
Parking
We are expecting a crowd for Grandparents Day, which means that our main parking lot will fill quickly. Additional parking is available on the playground blacktop (Enter via Slusser Street Gate) or on nearby streets (please observe all posted regulations).
Grandparents of 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds (preschool and pre-k) are encouraged to park on the playground blacktop (Slusser Street Entrance), which has direct access to the gym and Early Learning Center.
Please note: For the safety of pedestrians, vehicle traffic will not be allowed in the alley between the main parking lot and the playground blacktop.
Families can help by arriving together in one vehicle. Passengers may be dropped at the main door prior to parking.

Support Your Grandchild’s School
Grandparents have a lasting impact in the lives of their grandchildren, through the love and support they provide during formative years. Even more, grandparents who nurture their children in the faith are creating an eternal legacy.
At Westlake, we are grateful for the prayers and financial support of grandparents. Your gift is an investment in the education and discipleship of children. Donations allow us to offer financial assistance to families who otherwise could not afford a Christian education. In addition, donations support extra programs, including athletics and fine arts.
